Verge is a running program for kids and adults, with and without autism and other special needs, in the Greater Boston, Greater Worcester, and North Shore areas. Proceeds help fund our program!

General Schedule

  • Registration/bib pick-up opens at 9AM
  • 1.3 mile starts at 10AM
  • 5k starts at 10:40AM
  • Converge Surge (1/4 mile) starts at 11:40AM
  • Kids race starts at 12:00PM
  • Awards and raffle drawings at 12:15PM
  • Art activities and kickball 10AM-2:30PM

Wheelchairs, handcycles, and strollers permitted. No bicycles or recumbent bikes.


TIMED Runs (RUn/Walk/roll)

All ages and abilities!

* GUIDE RUNNERS: No fee, but you MUST register. 

10:00 - 1.3 mile:  $15, $8 (under 12)

10:00 - 1.3 mile Mixed Ability Relay: $8 per person (Put together a relay team!  2-4 person team. Each person does 1/4 - 3/4 mile.)

10:40 - 5k (3.1 miles):  $25, $12.50 (under 12)


FUN RUNs (run/walk/roll)

* No fee, but participants MUST register

11:40 - Converge Surge (1/4 mile)all ages and abilities!

12:00 - Kids races (200m):  3 starts - 6 & under, 7-10, 11+

12:15 - Awards and raffle drawings

  • Art Exhibit:  10:00am - 2:30pm - Showcasing artwork from the community.  
  • Mini Art Workshops:  10:00am - 2:30pm -  Explore your creative side in a variety of mediums.
  • Kickball:  Ongoing all day - Gather your family and friends or join in with those already playing for some fun and friendly games!  Kickball can easily be modified for all abilities.   
  • Pizza and refreshments

5k - Start from Alcott school, south on Laurel St, right on Thoreau, right on Hubbard, right on Walden, continue to Thoreau, right on Thoreau, right on Hubbard, right on Walden, right on Laurel, finish at school. 

1.3 mile - Start from Alcott school, south on Laurel St, right on Thoreau, right on Hubbard, right on Walden, right on Laurel, finish at school. 

Converge Surge (1/4 mile) - Start at Stow and Hubbard Streets, straight down Stow to school. 

Kids races (200m) - Start partway down Stow, straight to school.

Overall Male/Female, Male/Female under 15, Push Rim Wheelchair, Handcycle, Duo, Mobility Impaired, Blind/Visually Impaired, Intellectual Disability

Please note classifications are general, not Paralympic.

Parking is available in the school lot, on the neighborhood streets (Stow, Laurel, Everett and Hubbard), and in Concord Center (1/2 mile walk to the school). Concord Center parking is metered.

Please note that school parking may fill up. You will also not be able to drive in or out between 9:45 and 12:30 while the races are happening. Please plan accordingly.



Alcoot School address is 93 Laurel Street, Concord, Ma

To the Alcott School:

From Rte 2, at the Walden St intersection, take Walden Street toward Concord Center. Left on Thoreau just past the Concord-Carlisle HS, right on Laurel, the school is about 1/2 mile down the road on the right.

To Concord Center:

From Rte 2 there are several intersections with roads leading in to the center. From East to West, you can use Cambridge Turnpike, Walden St, Sudbury Rd, Main Street (Rte 62).
